An exploration in the uncanny and perpetually crooked world of female modelling
…normally I am all for equality and the calling of the bullshit…
But comma…
The object of a magazine cover is to sell it. We buy sex. And…isn’t it kind of a given to draw attention to *SEX* we focus on it?
Women have wider hips then men (for baby birthing yes?) so of course hands and posturing are gonna be put in a way to draw attention? Same reason why men are usually in that “Sup” head jerky motion…
We’re drawing attention to their nice board shoulders…so yea we turn men into meat too. Hell look at Boardwalk fashion…and Stuhlbarg’s ass and the perfect V of his tailored suits…
…I’m losing track…
Granted, I’m tired but I feel like I’m missing the point here. Yes, we’re objectifying them…it’s…the point of selling magazines?
I really think you read way too far into this
lol but wait. i can’t tell if is this oldwickedsongs person saying joking when they say that its OKAY to objectify women simply because that’s how magazines sell? like, take that thinking and put it into ANY other situation and it’s moronic.
